Evidence-Based Health Care (EBHC) is an approach in which clinicians and health care professionals utilize the current best evidence in making decisions about the care of patients. It involves continuously and systematically searching, appraising, and incorporating contemporaneous research findings into clinical practice. The overall goal is improving patient care through life-long learning.
The Evidence-Based Health Care Project is staffed and supported by the Bio-Medical Library and the Academic Health Center. The aim is to promote the practice of evidence-based health care throughout the Academic Health Center (AHC) at the University of Minnesota, and throughout the state.
